White Out Hunger: When Our Community Rallies, Everyone Wins
From the Executive Director’s Desk
In the Greater Elizabethtown Area, food insecurity touches more of our neighbors than many realize. Families work hard to make ends meet, yet some still face the difficult reality of empty cupboards or skipped meals. At ECHOS, we see firsthand how hunger affects health, stability, and hope. But we also see something else, how our community steps up, time and again, to make sure no one has to face hunger alone.
That spirit of compassion and action is exactly what Dr. White and White Family Dental brought to life through the White Out Hunger Event on August 9, 2025. What began as a vision to turn a local business’ platform into a force for good has grown into a community-wide movement that is making a tangible difference. Dr. White’s passion for ensuring bellies are full is as inspiring as it is effective, proving that when one person leads with heart, others follow.
This year, the White Out Hunger Event didn’t just benefit ECHOS. It extended its impact to three other incredible organizations fighting food insecurity right here in our own backyard Bear Bags, GEARS, and The Caring Cupboard. Together, these efforts weave a safety net that supports individuals and families of all ages, backgrounds, and circumstances.
Meeting needs in our community doesn’t have to be complicated or overwhelming. It can be as simple as donating a few extra cans during a food drive, volunteering for a few hours, or supporting events like White Out Hunger. Or it can be as grand as launching an initiative that rallies hundreds of people to give. Every action matters. Every effort adds up. And when we join forces, the results are nothing short of extraordinary.
From all of us at ECHOS, our heartfelt thanks go to Dr. White, the team at White Family Dental, and every person who contributed to making this event a success. Your commitment is filling more than plates—it’s filling hearts with hope.
Together, we can ensure that no neighbor in our community goes hungry.
With gratitude,
Ashley Bulley
